The hackers contacted The Chronicle of Higher Education and the Associated Press, says Wired Campus, going on
“Attempts to access the university system’s Web site were automatically redirected to another page, where readers viewed a message said to be from Iran that asserted there was no cheating in the election. That message was up for 90 minutes before university system technicians intervened Wednesday morning.”
The hackers, “apparently took advantage of third-party software that had not been properly updated, university system spokeswoman Diane Saunders says the story, adding:
“Hackers frequently attack the system’s computers, but technicians usually beat back their efforts, she said. ‘They are able to stomp on most of them,’ Saunders said.”
There’s no mention of the attack on the Oregon U site.

To be a little more on topic, this doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense. The spelling/grammar are atrocious, how can they expect to be taken seriously?

Sounds like a “plant” to me to still controversy, public opinion and funding for the new “cyber-war dept”.

@NobodyCoder, and you really think USA will spend a penny to find the “NobodyCoder” The name says all nobody. Boy, Make something productive in your life instead provoking anger. I lived in a country where about all people hated USA(News influence) and today I live in USA and about everything is different of what I was said. If you are intelligent enough, I encourage you to put your feet in both sides and reflect for your own mind. I am sure you have reasons to feel bad, but think intelligently buddy and most important, be a Men.

If, as a citizen of the United States, I was against any sort of hostility towards Iran (which I am sure a lot of people are), then how is this message supposed to affect me?
I doubt this person really is Iranian. They spell better, and they have better grammar.

Hi there,
My websites just got attacked as well by this NobodyCoder, he messed up all my websites, he is just a waste of time whoever he is, and maybe he is bored or something, he should get a life and get lost!
Why do some people do this and why dont they just enjoy their lives and have fun, life is short, its a shame….
