Goodbye spam?
p2pnet.net News:- A British company says it has the answer to spam —
Digital mail.
Dmail Limited, based in Dorset, says its completely closed server-based system operates with a back-end SQL database, supports html text only, has NO interface with email and can be accessed from anywhere on any web-enabled PC, handheld or mobile device
Moreover, with PC and MAC compliant dmail, gone would be email@here.com-type addresses. Users would be, simply, Jane or John, say.
Dmail is, “a safe and secure platform which cannot be penetrated by unwanted visitors or observers,” says the company, which is offering Wide World for single users; One World, a closed group package that’s “ideal for friends or family groups;” and, Corporate World, aimed at enterprise-wide or world-wide corporate communications.
Prices depend upon the number of users but are typically £15 (about $27) per year for a single user and £75 per year (about $135) for a group of 25 dmail addresses, it says.
Invented by Peter Jackson, dmail originates with the oil and gas industry.
“We had created a global supply network in the industry which needed a secure messaging system which was instantaneous and able to transfer large files rapidly,” he says. “I developed what is now called dmail to satisfy those requirements.
“MSN and Yahoo are viewing digital mail as a significant threat and have already reacted by increasing the storage size available on their email accounts, but this only addresses one benefit of digital mail – the real battle is yet to come.”
