MP3 download sites
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- Under Scourge W. Bush, America twisted itself into knots trying to help the entertainment cartels crush Allof MP3.com, a small Russian music site.
American taxpayers footed the bill on behalf of Hollywood and the Big 4 record labels as the US trade rep and others relentlessly went after what amounted to cartel competition, eventually forcing it offline.
But, stomp one and …
So, emails Georgia from Georgia (Really?
) “Have you seen MP3Victim?
Nope.
Interesting, though.
Registered in the US, it says it’s a, “rate and review, comparison site that helps guide you when looking to buy mp3 downloads”.

It’s odd that this ‘review’ site does not even list MP3Sparks.com, which is the old AllofMP3 site under a new name, and is the #1 *discount* MP3 download site.

“RIAA Drops Allofmp3 Lawsuit; Pretends Mp3Sparks Doesn’t Exist
from the maybe-if-we-ignore-our-problems… dept
It’s been quite some time since we heard about Allofmp3, the Russian online music download store that offered extremely low prices on DRM-free downloads (you even got to pick your format). The company insisted that it was legal in Russia, and had all the appropriate licenses. Multiple times, the company was brought to court in Russia, and every time, it was found to be legitimate. In fact, the company even tried to pay royalties for the music it sold, but the recording industry refused to accept the payments.
However, the entertainment industry had US diplomats lean on Russia, claiming that if it didn’t shut down the site, the US would block Russia’s admittance into the WTO. So, eventually, Russia did shut down the site through somewhat questionable means. Of course, within minutes of it being shutdown, the company reappeared under the name Mp3Sparks. In fact, Allofmp3.com accounts worked just fine on Mp3Sparks. And, of course, there are a dozen or so other Russian online download stores that also offer the same sort of deal (and all of which are playing by Russian copyright laws).
For some reason, though, Mp3Sparks just hasn’t received nearly as much attention as Allofmp3, and it seems like The Pirate Bay has taken on the role of “public enemy number 1″ for the recording industry. So, it should come as little surprise that the RIAA has dropped its lawsuit against Allofmp3.com, saying that the company is now defunct, while totally ignoring Mp3Sparks.”

F**k the lot of them, never buy music again, ever.

MP3Sparks was out at the same time as ALLOFMP3. Yet they were always one in the same and that is why all accounts worked in both places. I prefer GoMusic to MP3Sparks basically because they still accept credit cards. MP3Sparks is always hit and miss when you want to top up your account.
Seriously though the Russian music sites are run better than businesses in Canada or the US. I have used AllofMP3, MP3Sparks, GoMusic and Legal sounds. They are quick to respond to your concerns and I have received credits for being a frequent shopper. I highly recommend the above mentioned. I have been using Russian sites with my Credit card for the past 4 years and have never had an issue that was not quickly solved by great customer service.
If you can’t stop buying music like me, get it in Russia. You can screw the RIAA and still enjoy the music you want.
Sorry to the artists that I love but until the RIAA stops its sue em all campaign, I can only support you at concerts.

But if they aren’t able to pay royalties to the RIAA (uggg) then there’s no chance of the artists getting even a penny from the money your spending. So what’s the point? It’s no different than just downloading them from RapidShare or Bittorrent.

^^^^^^
You are right about that but I get tired of downloading, and it is not the right file or the file is corrupt. These sites are fast and you always get a good download(way higher bit rate than I tunes). Also many of the songs I buy are during a party when a guest requests a song, it is way faster to get it at a site then searching bit torrent.
I guess my 20 cents per song is more for convenience and I am willing to pay that for a song that is of good quality that I only have to download once.
That is why I use those sites, many think they are unsafe because they are in Russia, but I have only had great experiences with them.
If the RIAA was smart enough to come up with a site like these charging a reasonable amount with a high bit rate then none of the crap happening today would be going on. The artists would be making money and so would the greedy pigs. But due to their ignorance Russian business men now enjoy all the profits and don’t pay anyone! Believe me they are making tons of money.
