Band records new tune on iPhone
p2pnet news view Cool | Music:- Los Angeles band 88, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Keith Slettedahl, keyboardist/songwriter Adam Merrin, and drummer Anthony Zimmitti, recorded their new tune Love is the Thing for iTunes — on an iPhone
With Four Track, a $10 application which lets users record directly into the phone, they used its mic for each instrument, “plus four-part harmony, which is displayed on the bands ‘making of’ video on YouTube,” says USA Today, adding:
“The 88, currently on tour with the B-52s, read about Four Track while driving to a gig in a van,” says USA Today, going on:
“For the song, drummer Anthony Zimmitti, used his daughter’s toy drum set. Guitars and bass were on small practice amps, and Merrin used a cheap Yamaha keyboard.
Love is the Thing was recorded at Zimitti’s house for a total of 16 tracks altogether, says the story, adding:
“Four Track has a Wi-Fi feature to get the files off the iPhone, and Merrin took those and remixed the song in Pro Tools …”
