‘We need your support!’ The Pirate Bay
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- “Remember this, guys and gals, we really love you all.”
That’s The Pirate Bay spokesman Peter Sunde in the site’s blog.
Following the news of The Pirate Bay’s acquisition by Global Gaming Factory X, a gaming company suspected of insider trading, significant numbers of former TPB users now believe the PB4 are lower than whale excreta.
Equity marketplace Aktietorget wonders if illegal stock trading took place before the announcement of the take-over was made official.
“The exchange also says it`s concerned about the legality of Pirate Bay`s business practices,” says paidContent, going on »»»
“AktieTorget wants to make sure that the companies that are traded on the list are managing legitimate businesses, [an] official says. It`s not clear whether the investigations are enough to derail the deal, but they do add to the general uncertainty surrounding it, especially considering that Global Factory X says it still needs to raise the funds to buy Pirate Bay.
Still needs to raise funds? Interesting.
And, “If the acquisition is completed, Aktietorget might start a further investigation since The Pirate Bay is suspected of committing criminal actions,” says the story.
‘If we ever needed your support, this is now’
Meanwhile, “The last days have been quite stress for all of us,” Sunde blogs, continuing »»»
We are still (of course) doing this for fun, and we are (of course) really grateful for or cheers and supportive comments. If we ever needed your support, this is now. Or, actually, more correct would be to say that the internet needs YOU!
In these times, when internet legislations and blockades are surrounding us from all angles, we really need to stick together. We need to work the internets as it would be our cute and possibly underages neighbor – gently but with a firm hand. Instead of bashing each other we really have to build the internet as we want it to be.
For example, we and our friends have recently been rebuilding the internets of Iran. Why? Do we take a stand in the recent election? No, not really. We just don’t want to see people being slaughtered, and since internets is what we do that is also what we can provide. The systems surrounding the Iran project has now been up and running for a couple of weeks, and we really hope that they have made a difference. Actually we KNOW that they have, and that makes us very happy.
Not only but also, “Besides that we are also working on the finishing touches to our anonymizer Ipredator, we continue working on our You tube killer The Video Bay,” says Sunde. “We are also a part of the internets collective tink tank We Rebuild EU, which focuses at European politics and internetional networking.”
And, “Remember this, guys and gals, we really love you all,” he says, adding:
“Together we can build not only a free internets – but the world of our futures. Internets will be what we make of it.”

Im really confused about it I must say… TPB was a foot in the ..s of some big companies for some years, but it seems that when big money is in sight, its ok to denies ones own convictions… Somebody help me, I just dont get the point!

@surfer:
This is not about money. It’s about having fun. And remember — they really love you all.
(Is that really love you all, or really love you all? Or is that just BS too?
)
Cheers!

Detailed analysis of proposed TPB reverse merger, and the ‘outing’ of the iPredator service as simply a rebranded version of the failed Relakks VPN:

This is a more interesting – and more subtle – story than most folks have figured out just yet,

Indexing sites are a dime a dozen and new trackers pop up all the time. Did TPB sell out? Doesn’t matter as I don’t really care.

Peter Sunde said a few days ago: ‘I’d rather burn my stuff than pay fine’.
Well after that, there’s nothing I can do but removing my account and burning my tshirt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH6WqDlhV6w
