GetUp Censordyne spoof, uncensored

p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- Censorship doesn’t stand a chance any more.

Thanks to the Net.

The Australian government is among administrations more interested in kowtowing to entertainment industry demands than looking after the people who put them in power, and who keep them there.

But neither the governments nor the cartel members (Vivendi Universal, EMI, Warner Music and Sony Music + Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney) are having a lot of luck.

Thanks to the Net.

Qantas vetoed an in-flight Quntas advertisement from political activist group GetUp, “slamming the federal government’s internet censorship plan,” says Australian IT, going on »»»

GetUp, which has been running a series of campaigns slamming the ISP filtering scheme, got its wings clipped last week when it tried to book air time with Qantas.

The lobby group had planned for the ad to run on every Qantas flight into Canberra, where politicians would be heading when Parliament resumed in August.

The purpose was to show politicians that the filtering scheme was folly.

The GetUp commercial is part of a campaign dubbed Censordyne, a parody on the Sensodyne brand of toothpaste.

But no worries.

GetUp plans to air the Censordyne ad on Qantas may have suffered a setback,  says the GetUp site, but »»»

The good news is we’ve managed to secure new spots on major news programs – Seven News, Sky News and Meet the Press.

Chip in now to help get this advert on the air!

You know what to do.

Meanwhile, “Senator Conroy who is proposing the internet filter scheme was yesterday announced as Internet Villain of the Year at the 11th annual Internet Industry Awards, beating a world class field of those the industry love to hate!” – GetUp ads — sorry, adds ;) .

Definitely sty tuned.
