I partially agree, Robert. But, it wasn't Canadians who answered the phone calls. It was some unsavory sort of folk in the ilks of compliant and willing politicians who took the calls. Remember Sam Bault, Bev Oda, Josee Vernier, Jim Prentice, et al who were quite willing to bend over?

Could it be because Canada answers their phone calls while the other countries don't care?

Another thing to ad to this story is that most cams of Hollywood movies come from Asia, eastern Europe and Russia! Then once a cam release is done, shortly thereafter cams with in-line audio come out, which are audio taken from special theatres that make available direct audio jacks connected to the seats. This is for hearing impaired customers and it's known to the industry which theatres in the world offer such a service. Finally, more movies are embedded with a special code that is printed on so many frames of the film. This code can't be seen by people copying the film with a camera but the playback can be deciphered by the industry. So when a cam of a movie is uploaded on the Internet, the industry insiders are aware of what region of the world this film was distributed to, so Canada was just a convenient scapegoat for Hollywood to flex its legal muscles. But they damn well knew that most of the cams and especially the in-line audio cam releases were coming from mainly Asian theatres!
