Guinness and ‘douchebaggy cyber-bullying emails’
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- “On a site called failblog there’s a recent post about an email they received from the Guinness world record legal team about a screen grab from their website without their permission or ‘license’,” says our m8 Andrew in an email from Australia.
What’s the story?
“Well,” says Andrew, “the failblog’s reply ridiculed the sender and now the icanhascheezburger network have their own legal section, (which is a rick-roll) but is funny, indeed.
“And a couple weeks ago, a program called SundayNight here in Australia did a story on (Physical DVDs, CDs etc) Piracy in the Philippines.”
Could that possibly have been the item p2pnet referred to in Philippine Eduardo in anti-Hezbollah raid! ? – do you think?
About nonentity Philippine Eduardo Manzano, an aged actor known only in the Philippines but who’s been hired by Hollywood as a korporate kopyright kup? And who’s actually working with local policia, apparently?
But back to Guinness, “Guinness World Records got angry at failblog for something regarding their site, so failblog put up their response email on their site, then gave the viewers a link that said ‘Click here to read full E-mail conversation’, yet it actually sends the readers here, thus Rick’Rollin us all,” says a post under th YouTube video you’ll see below.
And under that is a flick keyed to the M(anzano)PAA phk-up.
“What angered me the most [about it] was they failed to mention anything about the fall of MediaDefender, the impacts of DMCA, and DRM, or even recent events on the Industry, ISPs or common peers today,” says Andrew, adding, “but they did mention one of the members I think of PreVail … caught earlier this year bloody AFACT =@”
Says APC of the preVailk incident, “One Australian man is walking free with nothing more than a slap on the wrist after being found guilty and convicted of ‘camming’ movies, which he then supplied to PreVail, a well known ‘Scene’ group, thus making the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) and Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft (AFACT) incredibly upset.
“In the past 3 1/2 years PreVail has released over 200 titles onto the Internet.”
Here’s what FAIL Blog said in response to an email it received from a Guinness World Records lawyer»»»
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for writing us an email regarding the Record Breaking Fail. Unfortunately, douchebaggy cyber-bullying emails will only bring upon you more shame on your house. I am also resisting the urge to write this email in ALL CAPS.
I believe it is the duty of FAIL Blog(TM) to call out organizations when they encourage the public to do such things as Break the record for the Most Individuals Killed In A Terrorist Act. We firmly believe that our publication of your fail is protected under the concepts of fair use, commentary and non-trademark use. Please RTFM and we welcome you to teh interwebs.
Since we at FAIL Blog(TM) don`t have a legal defense department, we have complied with your request to remove the trademarked term and logo from the original image. We have used the naughty bits filter on the image to secure your naughty, naughty, trademark assertions. However, we have posted your email so that our audience can see why we had to remove the name of the failer from the image. I hope that this is the outcome you have expected as now NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW THAT GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS LIMITED HAS FAILED.
Now you know.
(Cheers, Andrew
