Their musical efforts are now safe from the evil depredations of the dreaded Skwerl!

But they won’t be happy.

“Skwerl,” p2pnet posted in March, going on, “Now that`s a hardcore name for a hardcore Internet pirate, if ever there was one!

“Known to his mum and girl-friend as Kevin Cogill, FBI agents, acting for the corporate music industry, arrested Skwerl in his jammies last year. His alleged crime? He uploaded nine unreleased tracks from the not eagerly awaited upcoming Guns N` Roses album Chinese Democracy to his blog.

“Oh! The Horror!

“Now federal US authorites want Cogill thrown into jail …”

Well, with a crime like that, you’d want Skwerl, sorry, Kevin Cogill, taken off the streets. Right?

But now sentence has been passed Guns’n'Roses, led by Axl Rose, the FBI and the RIAA will be sorely disappointed.

How come?

Kevin wasn’t jailed.

Instead, he was ordered to serve two months of home confinement and a year of parole for breaking federal copyright law.

Take that, ye scurvy pirate !
