Phonoline tries again
p2pnet.net News:- German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder was on hand, recently, to help out with the launch of Phonoline, Germany’s contribution to the Never-Never land of corporate online music ’stores’.
The launch was a disaster, “embarrassing” Schroder.
Now, “Germany’s music industry has switched efforts to sell music over the Internet to Deutsche Telekom’s Web unit T-Online from a previous collaboration with another Telekom division,” says Reuters, going on:
“T-Online will combine the Phonoline online music platform with its own Musicload service, with a focus on making more music available, record industry association Ifpi and Telekom said in a joint statement.”
Phonoline, “makes it possible for other companies to offer music downloads as part of marketing campaigns,” says Reuters, adding, “Coca-Cola’s German arm and ticket agent CTS Eventim are currently using Phonoline”.
