Twitter launches Twitter 101
p2pnet news view Advertising | P2P:- Like P2P file sharing, micro-blogging is here to stay.
And that’s good. Severely limiting the maximum number of characters to 140 for any given post means data and info are passed without gas.
More detailed reports can follow.
Twitter started it all, but it says the current main page is, “essentially confusing to the masses of people who come to it,” according to All Things Digital. Consequently, Twitter aims to unveil a new main homepage next week, says the story, going on:
“People arriving at the new main homepage will be greeted by a search box, information on Twitter trends and a panoply of more specific information about how they can use Twitter.”
But what’s it really all about?
Advertising and $$$.
The people behind Twitter are also launching Twitter 101 and on the company blog we read, “
Many are seeing a wide variety of businesses using Twitter in interesting ways to create value for customers and consumers. As a result, we’re often invited by businesses and organizations to talk about Twitter and how it can be used to better engage with customers.”
And on 101 itself, “Now, people are turning to Twitter as an effective way to reach out to businesses, too. From local stores to big brands, and from brick-and-mortar to internet-based or service sector, people are finding great value in the connections they make with businesses on Twitter.”
Fair enough. And let’s hope the development of Twitter as an up-front ad medium will reduce the growing number of fake followers.
Stay tuned.
