‘Beheading’ site hacked
p2pnet.net News:- A free Web hosting site that had a page put up by a pro-Qaeda group and which featured the terrible videos of hostages having their heads cut off has been hacked by TeAmZ USA, says Free Republic.
“HoSt Em?……. Watch out… wE B Cominz 4 U!!!”
Why does hostinganime allow terrorists to use their site? - wonders one of the Free Republic posts.
“You might wish to direct that question to the so-called ‘American’ ISP providing connectivity to hostinganime,” suggests Johnathan R. Galt.

I applaud the efforts of these devoted hackers. Some people might claim that it’s a free speech issue but I say that it’s a means of communicating their messages and in that these videos are a tool of the terrorists, the website itself is a weapon said terrorists wield.
Keep up the good work and keep that sucker down as long as possible!

who has the link to these videos?
seeing american Cogs get slaughtered is worth it to help educate people y not to be a occupier/dominator

The fact that such an act has occurred should be enough to educate people. The power of these videos is that they inspire fear and panic among the common folk, one might even say terror. The more demand there is for this kind of sick twisted behavior, the more incentive there is to produce more of them. I don’t care for the policies of GW or his cronies; however, that doesn’t mean the distribution of slaughter videos is justified or a good thing. It’s horribly disrespectful to the memory of each and every victim of these creatures we call terrorists. Educate people through facts and lessons, not murder and death videos.

“seeing american Cogs get slaughtered is worth it to help educate people y not to be a occupier/dominator”
You’re sick and you need help.
And if you think a few beheadings committed by a few criminals with a twisted idea of Islam is going to do anything but make the citizens of the United States MORE determined, then you’re quite stupid and could use a little education yourself. This is the real world we live in! Occupier/dominator… you don’t even KNOW domination.
September 28th, 2004 at 10:08 pm
It’s more “shock” than true terror. We know they could more easily kill a hostage with a bullet to the head and they would be just as dead. As Americans become more accustomed to seeing beheadings, as they are, the terrorists’ desired “shock” value will wear off… the law of diminishing returns, not unlike the law of gravity, applies just as much to terrorist criminals as well as it does to the rest of us in this world.
I’ve seen each of the beheading videos and to be honest, the first was shocking. The second one not so much. And so on. Now, if I see a beheading video, I agree it’s horrible and I feel very badly and pray for both the victim and the brain-washed assailant for what will ultimately happen to them when they are caught.
If anything, it only strengthens the USA’s resolve, and garners sympathy for the innocent and angst against Muslims world-wide, when the core of Islam is not about what these terrorists are doing. They are a disgrace to Islam; they are Muslim in name only; they are an abomination of the religion of Islam, and what they are doing with these beheadings is not even a wise strategic move on their part to begin with.

theres no way to rationalize this kind of thing. its barbaric by any standard. so is a lot of the stuff that goes on in america. and in europe. and china. and ….
September 30th, 2004 at 2:40 am
It’s called ISLAM.
read the koran, sunna and hadith.
You’ll see that cutting off a person’s head is a penalty that comes right from Mohammeds mouth.
The core of Islam turns a blind eye to the evil on the periphery, and therefore is JUST AS EVIL.
It is an indoctrination, and ideology hiding behind the phrase “religion”. If Nazi’s had of called their ideology “religion” we’d have been overun in the war.
I sure don’t see any Muslim heads of state standing up and crying foul, nor sending THEIR troops in to find and stop these monsters. By doing nothing, they become part of the problem. How many Germans and Nazi party members simply turned a blind eye to Auschwitz and Burchenwald and Belsen and Mathausen? Hmmm?
Now we have ignorant MONSTERS saying here that it’s a good lesson?!?! You are sick, sick people. You obviously have no love of humanity, no soul.
This is outright, savage murder of innocent civilians, who are just trying to make a better life for themselves or others (most are contracters and aid workers and returning expatriates).
What kind of vile scum takes a hostage and cuts off their head with a short knife? Now we in the west know how Russia has felt with Chechnya for many years. Funny how we don’t hear about those beheadings eh? Only what the liberal idiots in the press want to show there.
Get a grip. Realize the truth. Don’t be spoon fed. research, and make up your own mind. War is hell, but at least it’s fought by people living by the Geneva convention, in uniforms, against combatants.
What these terrorsts are doing is pure evil, and just PROVES that the entire area needs to be brought into the 21st century. This behaviour smacks of the 7th century, and it’s equally as appalling.

Beheadings: the new P2P craze?
The copyrighted media industry, which includes movies and music and even porn, has long maintained that P2P is used almost exclusively to illegally distribute copyrighted files. However, there has been a genre of non-copyrighted content that has recently become a most sought-after commodity: images and video of wartime atrocities such as beheadings.
A article in Newsweek states:
“The terrorists sent reports of the deaths - and grisly footage of the beheadings - to Islamic web sites… Those videos quickly migrated to Internet nodes more trafficked by Westerners - peer-to-peer sites like Kazaa and Grokster, where anyone can post or download videos anonymously”
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6073228/site/newsweek/
Since these images are self-censored from mainstream media, P2P may have become the method of choice for obtaining downloads of these macabre scenes. Starting with the Daniel Pearl execution in Pakistan 2 years ago, P2P has been at times probably the easiest method of obtaining such footage, unless one can read Arabic and is quick enough to locate a hosting website before it gets shut down. Ogrish.com seems to be the biggest and most well known site specializing in this perverse morbidity - at least to the English speaking world. On Alexa.com Ogrish was ranked in the top 2000 (and sometimes much higher) of the web’s most visited sites. The Pearl video was for a time only available on P2P, as the very few websites that hosted it removed the file under legal threat.
The current situation has changed, however, and it seems that a multitude of websites now specialize in providing this gorey entertainment which the producers are more than happy to generously supply free of charge and without copyright, tapping into that same perverse curiosity that so often tempts motorists to slow down and stare at a road accident. Although the Roman Colosseum is long gone, even “civilized” humans of the modern age have still never fully outgrown that barbaric lust for blood-sport. Western Governments attempt to stamp out any emergence of consumer interest in viewing any kind of morbid cruelty. State-sponsored executions take place safely out of view of the public. Dogfights, cockfights, even bullfights are banned in the USA. Scenes from livestock slaughterhouses are never shown on public TV, let alone on the can of corned beef that results from such slaughter. In contrast, many other countries are not so skittish about death. Saudi Arabia regularly conducts public executions, and most any Mexican/Spanish language news stand is sure to be filled with magazines showing photographs of grisly crime scenes.
During the recent Iraq invasion, the US press took meticulous care to ensure that neither US troop casualties nor the multitudes of eviscerated corpses of Iraqis - both soldier and civilian - that lined the streets ever showed up on TV news reports - as if to present war as some kind of giant paintball match. The Arab Al-Jareera network did choose to show all those graphic images of dead babies - despite the ongoing threat of their press headquarters being bombed - for the second time - by US warplanes. (Not surprising, Al Jazeera is now kicked out of Iraq.) Ironically, gore-filled horror movies and even the blood-spattered ‘Passion of the Christ’ are hugely popular in the USA. Perhaps knowing that it’s fake makes all the difference in public acceptability.
I started up Filetopia, a P2P that I had not used in a long time. One of the chatrooms I went into, a popular movie channel, boldly stated on its frontpage: “NO PORN … NO BEHEADINGS” Since Filetopia has a reputation of being a rather G-rated P2P network as well as most users preferring to disable network searching, I searched for “beheading” on the edonkey network and found results on just one server numbering in the hundreds. While certainly not as high as the latest blockbuster movie would return, this was clearly a popular genre of shared files. It’s my guess, however, that as more and more websites start openly offering this fare and their notoriety grows, there will be less incentive for people to seek out P2P - with its reputation of long queues, fake files and irregular quality - for their grisly entertainment fix.
The developers of P2P applications have always desired that they can show “substantial non-infringing uses” of their product, although the idea of users swapping uncopyrighted beheading videos is probably unlikely to be what they had in mind.

Islam is the religion - MUSLIM’s follow Islamic Law.
hate to say it and come off sounding like a “troll” but your an idiot.
Comments like: “smacks of 7th century … and should be brought into the 21st century” Don’t sit well with me. You mean, bouncing betties, land mines, nuclear weapons, guns, chemical weapons are better?
What kind of “vile scum” allows american soldiers to torture prisoners of war? Or allow the Kurds to be slaughtered en masse while the world turned a blind eye? or how about 30,000 prisoners who were hanged at Ayatolla Khomeini’s urging? What about what Pol Pot did to the citizens of his country? how many other dictators have slaughtered its citizens while the world gave the victims the cold shoulder?
“people living by the Geneva Convention” you living in a fart bubble? What the soldiers did to those prisoners wasn’t done according to the Geneva Convention. A little reminder of the Geneva Convention:
In the case of armed conflict … each party to the conflict shall be bound to apply … the following provisions:
1. Persons … shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria.
To this end the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time … :
(a) Violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;
(b) Taking of hostages;
(c) Outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment;
(d) The passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples.
2. The wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for.
So according to you what the terrorists are doing isn’t ok but what the American’s are doing is? the pure evil is going to war over a commodity, pure evil is treating all those who oppose the war as the enemy, pure evil is not giving a rats ass what anyone else thinks and going to war anyways.
Frankly you need to get a grip and stop being spoon fed this trash you spew.

1. I never defended the dismal failure by the abugraib prison to protect the dignity of it’s captured personnel, whether combatant or other.
2. Killing civilians is abhorrent. If you try to justify that to me, you are a truly sick person. They are murdering civilians, for the most part, with no regard for their inability to pose any threat or to fight back.
3. It DOES smack of the 7th Century, a backward, uncivilized time in history.
4. Don’t defend Saddam’s evil by saying this was a war about oil. France and Germany played that card well, because they were unwilling to LOSE their control of Saddam’s Oil. Now Iraqi people are getting the $$$, not the Europeans who love to deal with dictators and turn a blind eye to terror around the world.
5. If the US has made mistakes worldwide, what can we say about everyone else who stood idley by and did NOTHING. At least the US has TRIED to fix things, albeit with THEIR Interests first (which is reasonable, no matter how much you don’t like it, a country needs to protect it’s own interest). In this case, the Interest of the US is the Interest of the world…. long term peace through civil society, based on secular styled democracy.
6. What is a more terrible thing to lose? Your dignity at being held naked near another man….
…..Or your neck (for driving a truck, or working as an electrician).
7. Anyone that has such blind hatred of US policies, and fails to look at the big picture, clearly cannot see the truth though their hatered for the US, and is blinded by their OWN spoon fed doctrines.
8. Why is it ok for the leftists to claim the have corner on the truth?
9. I believe I suggested people make their own decisions, but read all the sides. Clearly, you only THINK you know the truth.
Don’t forget about Mr. Moore’s 59 Lies.

1: your words (not mine) –> “War is hell, but at least it’s fought by people living by the Geneva convention, in uniforms, against combatants. ”
wasn’t a point of defending a point was a matter of you ignoring what american’s have done there and claiming they follow the rules of the Geneva Convention - obviously they don’t
but why follow the Geneva Convention when they can’t even be bothered to follows the rules set out by the UN? Rest of the world said “wait” the USA said “screw that we’re going ahead anyways”
2: I wasn’t defending Saddam by mentioning oil but after all this time and all the intellegence that has come out it very obvious that “weapons of mass destruction” weren’t the reason for going to war with Iraq. Oil and Isreal were - getting a dictator America couldn’t control out was. Oh and by the way the USA put Saddam in power a long time ago - been a thorn in the USA’s side ever since.
3: Lets look at the Shiites and Kurds during the Gulf War, they protested at the urging of the American government which resulted in Iraq killing thousands who tried to rebel. Where was the USA while they were being slaughtered in the thousands? Or how about during the Iran-Iraq War? Should I even bother mentioning the Kurds who fled to Turkey and were killed in the thousands there?
4: ‘Scuse me but american’s are isolationist’s - take a look at the Second World War - they didn’t get involved UNTIL Japan attacked Pearl Harbour. Only time the USA is interested in “getting involved” is when they think there is something in it for them. Did they stop Pol Pot? How about ignoring what happened in Rwanda in the early 90’s? many more examples of “pure evil” ignored by the USA and the rest of the western world
5: This thread isn’t worth responding to since your convinced I must be some leftist commie pinko who prays at the alter of Michael Moore and hates America because I brought up some valid points that counter what you posted previously. Funny how some think that because what was said is diametrically opposed to the position of another it makes them “right” or “left”
6: This “leftist commie pinko” is off to hug a tree

I’m new to P2P.net, and I’m not sure what kind of forum this is yet, but I was drawn to the topic on “Hacking the Beheading Site”. It appears to me, that there are two distinct voices commenting on this topic. I”m probably missing something, but I can’t discern who is posting each individual comment, so I will address both of you.
I was heartened by the intelligence and knowledge of both voices, but a little discouraged by the name-calling, because it takes away from the power of some of the informed statements. I understand the anger associated with this subject—it’s an emotional issue.
Although I have my own beliefs concerning the recent beheadings, and I admit they have been emotional, I will not share them right now. It has been my experience, that debating religion, politics and human rights, is an open-ended conversation, that only takes up time and rarely changes minds.
I feel that discussing our individual beliefs, serves to divide us and point out our differences. I believe that discussing our global similarities, ie. the need for shelter, food, water, love and communion with other humans, has a better chance of initiating action, that will benefit all human beings.
After reading the comments of the two voices, I can see, that although they appear to be on opposite sides of the fence, they are actually saying the same thing—–people are treating other people unkindly and they don’t like it. I am sure, that if you were to tell a poor, uneducated, third-world, country man, all the brutal things that are happening today and ask him his opinion, he would also say, people are treating people unkindly and he doesn’t like it. So what’s the solution?
I know that I have no control over the actions of others, but I do have control over my actions. I feel that the only way to counter-act, the bad things that are happening in the world today, is to do the opposite. If I see brutality, I become kinder. If I see greed, I become more giving. If I see hate, I become more loving and when I see people fighting, I become more peaceful. Maybe, the brutality, lack of compassion, greed and violence in the world today, serves a higher purpose, than the mere subjugation of people. Maybe, it serves as a mirror to our own behavior and teaches us how not to be
Peace

Who’s doing the trash-spewing here?
I am not Muslim, but I have Muslim relatives whom I know very well.
What you’re saying is a bunch of lies and garbage. You will apparently believe anything the leftist media tells you.
Open up your mind! Open your eyes, see what it really happening and quit focusing on feeling sorry for Saddam, defending Osama, hating America.
America’s never given you a real reason to hate it. Grow up and quit spouting off your half-educated, pseudo-intellectual Michael-Moore spoon-fed bull$hit and get a f&*king grip on reality, friend.
Honestly.

Oh, and Mohammed was only a prophet, and a mistaken one at that. As was Ali.
Both mistaken. Wrong. So go cut your own head off for being so incredibly stupid and foolish, and rid the world of your psycho-babble.

Please do not allow these awful videos to be shown. This only allows this type of violence to be glorified and encouraged. The world has enough hate as it is.
