I don't know if it is a sham, though it seems so, at least in certain respects. But as to being a success, I note that Quiet Tiger's revenue from CD Copy Protection - which is split 60% SunnComm, 40% Quiet Tiger - is just $30K for Q2 2004.

SunnComm's 2Q revenue is then just $18K. That is probably less than a used car lot located 200 miles east of Upper WoopWoop would get in the wet season

Ichh... not really a good past for SunnComm...

But the real problem is that DRM
has to work properly in audio players.

That means that if everything else fails,
you can still record an album as any other sound input.

Of course, they can try to make it hard, annoying
or even difficult to copy albums...

But that would require either to install
software on every computer (not really possible)
or make cd players that can aumatically correct problems with
the soundtrack (which can also be done to pc players).

The whole thing reminds me of this teacher that was saying
with pride that his documents were protected
from being printed by some lock function or something.
Of course, you could still read them.

When pointed out that anyone could hit the "Print Screen" button
he mumbled something about how that was not a proper way
to print and how normal people didn't do that.
Right.
