Pirate Bay deal goes under
p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- p2pnet can confirm rumours that The Pirate Bay deal with Global Gaming Factory X has gone under, leaving TPB’s Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi, Frederik Neij, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg and millionaire donor Carl Lundström high and dry.
GGF snapped TPB up for 60 million kroner (about $C9,025,310), said p2pnet recently, quoting TPB’s Peter Sunde as saying, “Don’t worry – be happy!” – when news of the acquisition was released.
Former Grokster CEO Wayne Rosso was said to have been in discussions with Global Gaming boss and major shareholder Hans Pandeya.
Then, “Worry,” said p2pnet following later news GGF was suspected of insider trading
And, “There now seem to be considerable doubts as whether or not the Global Gaming Factory buy of The Pirate Bay will actually go through,” p2pnet reported
Now, “As my conversations with Mr. Pandeya progressed, it became painfully clear that there was not a solid plan in place that I could embrace,” Rosso told p2pnet.
“Consequently I and my colleagues lost more and more confidence in GGF’s ability to execute.”
What next?
The Pirate Bay doesn’t seem overly concerned that Rosso and others have walked away from Global Games.
A “Pirate Bay insider said they would give GGF a week to get insurance from the investors, otherwise the deal is off,” says TorrentFreak, adding:
“Pirate Bay spokesman Peter Sunde told us that he doesn’t know what will happen to the Pirate Bay in the future …”
