Palm has ’seamless access’ to iTunes. Again.
p2pnet news view | Mobiles:- Apple figured a new application Palm created to help people use iTunes on its new Pre smart phone was a threat.
So instead of coming up with something to deal with it competitively, it tried to scupper the move.
In a, “petty, and some would say Microsoftish move,” Apple updated iTunes to block Palm users, Fudzilla noted.
But Palm has slapped Apple back.
“That’s right,” blogs the company’s John Traynor, “you once again can have seamless access to your music, photos and videos from the current version of iTunes (8.2.1).”
That’s always assuming anyone would want to pay $1 and up for digital music files one can get for free, or for a few cents, from one of the many online independent web sites or services, of course.
But to some people, iTunes is more than merely a user-funded iPod front-end loader and they’re willing to fork out for its offerings. Thus, “For a list of the new features of Palm webOS 1.1, take a look at the release notes at www.palm.com/webos-pre-sprint-en,” says Traynor on trhe company blog, adding:
“By the way, all these updates are delivered automatically to your Pre wirelessly. Over-the-air updates let you automatically get new webOS features and security updates — all you have to do is tap to accept.”
No you know.
