FBI to release secret Lennon files

p2pnet.net OT News:-The FBI has been ordered to release secret John Lennon documents, says Britain’s Liverpool Echo.

"Jonathan Wiener, professor at the University of California, Irvine, sued the US government for the documents in 1983 under the Freedom of Information Act," it says, going on:

"In 1997 he received 248 pages as part of a settlement, and later wrote a book: Gimme Some Truth: The John Lennon FBI Files. Yesterday, the US Supreme Court ordered the last ten pages of the files should also be released."

Apparently, US government lawyers tried to argue there was a risk because the information was secretly provided by a foreign government, which wasn’t publicly identified, adds the Echo story.

I think that the feds will black out a lot of portions of these files when they finally do release them. They always find a way to hide the truth.
