500 Aussies into kiddie porn?
p2pnet.net News:- On the heels of reports that an Australian political group wants voters to fund an online pornography filter project comes further news that 500 Australians could be implicated in Internet child porn.
Australian Federal Police commissioner Mick Keelty is quoted by The Australian as saying police across the country have already executed more than 400 search warrants and more were expected today, "as a worldwide investigation continued".
More than 200 people have now been charged with more than 2,000 offences and Keelty was surprised at the extent of the problem, says the report.
"Pedophilia is now becoming a worrying feature of law enforcement activity because it is so pervasive," he told ABC Radio, states The Age, which also had Keelty saying the operation highlighted the involvement of Russian organised crime in internet child porn.
