Why does paypal accept EChecks as payment from Ebay buyers? My experience was that the buyer did not have money in the bank account to cover the check and paypal canceled the payment. If this was a personal check, I would possibly have some recourse. As it is I have a non paying buyer.

Funny, I notice in the last week that US$5.00 was charged to me when I bought 6 separate books from 6 different ebay stores. US$5.00 x 6 books= US$30.00. Holy Cow US$30.00 Fee for buying 6 books from ebay! That is a lot of Fee money that PayPal has charged me and I did not even received a letter at all from them telling me that the Personal PayPal is not longer Free anymore. PayPal are behaving like Pirates.

What Paypal did was remove the fees for personal TRANSACTIONS, rather than just for personal ACCOUNT transactions. This means that when you're selling something with a personal acct, you will be charged the regular 2.9% + .30 fee, but if you're just receiving money from someone, like a gift or donation, then there are no fees, as long as nothing is actually sold or any services rendered. I don't really mind this change, as it finally allows one to send a family member or friend/collegue money without being charged for just moving some numbers around in their system.

There are a lot of controversial things going on around the globe at this moment, but in reality it is a case of "re-adjusting" yourself and your business to avert the changes. Everything is possible!

and they didn't make any announcements either when they took away your option of using your credit card when you had a Paypal account balance. they're a bunch of crooks. i've switched to bank deposit as my main payment method. wouldn't surprise me if eBay/paypal block that method in the near future...

i read the fee schedules, and as far as i can tell, purchases using paypal are free (STILL) for normal private accounts.

it seems if you're selling something, sending money, or anything that isn't a direct purchase then you pay a fee.

whatever changes they made, it shouldn't affect the regular person who's not a company and uses paypal only to make purchases.

Yeah. Remember the days when "improving" something meant "making it better"?

"...we were hoping it would be a more useful experience for people..."

Seems everyone has a "thing" with these "experience" phrases these days.
Bell's probably wishing they could have copyrighted the word by now.
