The Pirate Bay offline: ‘Something is broken’

p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- The Pirate Bay is down, for whatever reason.

Yesterday afternoon reports started coming in that it was inaccessible, and it’s still offline at 4:50 am Pacific.

“Something is broken, we are working on it, check back in a little while! – is the message.

Yesterday, we noticed some queries were being answered, and some weren’t. The message was the system was over-loaded and, “try again in a few seconds”.

Now, with the site’s (former?) owners demanding Dutch authorities rethink a ban they’ve imposed in Holland, and negotiations apparently continuing between Global Gaming Factory (the wanna-be new owner) and a least one of the Big 4 labels, TPB is definitely offline.

Is this a genuine technical hitch, or is it in some way related to the supposed sale of the site to GGF and its efforts to get on the good side of the Korporate Kopyright Klans?

Meanwhile, “”Ok, we have some pwr FAIL. It’s not BREIN FAIL,” promises the message.

Stay tuned.

The Net isn’t revolution. It’s evolution.

Whenever a site such as TPB goes down for whatever reason, if something doesn’ t already exist to take its place, something new quickly evolves.

And the auld grey heads who rule the Korporate Kopyright Klans finger their beards and become even more confused. ;)

    Cheers!
