Hollywood-friendly pols
p2pnet.net News:- INDUCE and the PDEA are in the public eye at the moment.
But let’s not forget the Feinstein / Cornyn Artists’ Rights and Theft Prevention Act (ART Act). And there are plenty of other bills which follow the Hollywood party line.
Now ponder this: Not one of bills mentioned above is even remotely in the public interest. To the contrary:
- They’re written solely to further solidify the entertainment industry’s mon(pig)opolitistic practises in the interests of shareholders; and,
- They’re backed by a cadre of politicians who always seem to be on hand to aid and assist just when the entertainment industry needs them, speaking vociferously on behalf of various legislations promulgated by the record label cartel and major movie studios.
- These powerful and influential public figures continue to receive financial help from the entertainment industry.
In $$ order, and with amounts contributed by TV/Movies/Music this year, as OpenSecrets.org phrases it, the most usual suspects are:
Barbara Boxer, $640,110
Charles Schumer, $544,135
John Edwards, $328,297
Arlen Specter, $305,400
Dianne Feinstein, $289,316
Pat Leahy, $233,800
Orrin Hatch, $174,928
Howard Berman, $136,000
Fritz Hollings, $111,833
Lindsey Graham, $80,523
Lamar Smith, $53,833
James Sensenbrenner, $53,368
These are by no means all – they’re merely among the most quoted/visible.
The line forms on the right, babe.
These investment amounts are paltry to the entertainment industry, but the returns they bring are of inestimable value.

So what’s your point here? You don’t think politicans can accept lots of money from the entertainment industry and do their jobs properly?

Do YOU think they would bite the hand that feeds them?

‘You don’t think politicans can accept lots of money …’
Sure they can. Look at Orrin Hatch. He’s doing a terrific job. For the entertainment industry.
Mind you, he obviously doesn’t have the same negotiation skills as some of his colleagues ; )
Cheers!
