Rhapsody Apple app?
p2pnet news view Music:- Have you been holding your breath, wondering when RealNetworks Rhapsody “will finally be on the iPhone”?
Wonder no longer.
Real was recently on the wrong end of a decision by US judge Marilyn Hall Patel in the case brought by Hollywood against its $30 RealDVD, “created to allow consumers to make copies of DVDs they paid good money for,” said p2pnet .
Now, “This week Rhapsody will submit our on-demand streaming music application for the iPhone and iPod Touch to Apple for review,” says Real’s Lucy Kemp, going on, “There is nothing quite as satisfying as needing to hear a certain song RIGHT NOW and being able to scratch that itch.”
Um, Lucy. People already are scratching like that. All the time. Like, I’m listening to Mose Allison as I write this. And I also have my daughter’s discarded teensy MP3 player with which I listen to certain song’s RIGHT NOW. Whenever I feel like it.
But Lucy isn’t talking about that.
“I can`t even count the number of times I`ve wanted to hear a song on my iPhone and guiltily plopped down $.99 to iTunes to please my impatient self,” she says. But, “When I first used the Rhapsody app it seriously felt like the sun shone a little brighter that day.”
Seriously?
She adds, “We know not everyone who uses an iPhone is a Rhapsody subscriber, but we think the app will appeal to anyone who has an affinity for music.”
Sad to say, even though having an affinity with music has nothing to do with iPhone or Rhapsody, there are indeed a lot of Macolytes out there with lots of money to throw away.
