McAfee shock-horror Jessica Biel report !

p2pnet news view Advertising | P2P:- Inept security outfit McAfee has “revealed” if you’re searching for stuff on actress Jessica Biel, “almost half the downloads you could click on will try to deposit malware (viruses, pop-up ads, spyware, etc.) in your computer,” says ABC News.

Last year, it was Brad Pitt.

And guess who can save you from the Perils of Jessica Biel (and Brad Pitt, of course)?

McAfee!

YAY !!!

In 2008 we also pointed out McAfee owes p2pnet LOTSA dinero for using us for advertisingf purposes without our knowledge or permission.

And it’s still doing it.

“Anti-virus and security companies routinely pump out  custom-made scare reports in the hope of frightening the gullible into buying `product` we said, going on »»»

“But Brad Pitt [in this instance, Jessica Biel] isn`t alone in being singled out to promote McAfee stuff — whether he likes it or not.

“The same thing happened to p2pnet.

“No! Really!

“And as an example of just how efficient McAfee is, it lists p2pnet as located in the US when in fact our luxurious central HQ is in a tiny village on Vancouver Island, BC, in Canada. Duh!

‘Why not bring this subject up with a lawyer and sue McAffee for defamation and so forth?’ – suggested p2pnet reader few bux in a comment post to my story McAfee targets p2pnet. Again.

“I said »»»

Biggie `security` company McAfee is implying p2pnet is a dodgy site with spyware and malpractice downloads, and it [McAfee] is doing so to promote its [McAfee's] so-called SiteAdvisor `service`.

Nor is this the first time. The company made exactly the same accusations last year.

You know how it works, I responded to few bux. Lawyers cost lots of money and I don`t have any.”

The real danger, I added, is that someone might take McAfee seriously.

Wow, I had forgotten about that. Seems like so long ago.

Since that original article you wrote, and due to some of the comments I have seen how you are a “danger”, I have come to realize since then that McAffee is silencing you (or trying to) via their “insecurity” program.

Anyhow, real security apps by companies that are into real security threats (and not mickey mouse scare tactics to silence people using “security theaters”) can be obtained for free. Ones that don’t try to silence voices, such as Avira Anti-Virus found here: http://www.free-av.com/en/trialpay_download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html

McAfee is the real threat to the people. Dump them today and be glad in your knowledge that you liberated a voice and stand for truth, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression.

Act now before McAffe tries to silence more people.

They put China’s great firewall to shame. McAffe is the American version of the Chinese firewall.

  2. Devil's Advocate Says:

McAfee is such a train wreck anyway.

  3. Reader's Write Says:

McAfee is more than a train wreck.
about 50% of computer problems involving driver installations and update problems can be attributed to McAfee and Norton Products.
they basically take over your computing experience and consider the end user a virus.
don’t use their products and if you want to pay for AV get nod32 or Kaspersky (just to name 2 i trust and have had no problems with to date)

  4. Devil's Advocate Says:

I wish I could say “Jessica Biel gave me a virus”.
    : )

  5. Jon Says:

    @ DA:

Repeat after me, “Jessica Biel gave me a virus”.

    There. Better now? ;)

    Cheers!

  6. Devil's Advocate Says:

Okay, I wish I could say it, as truth, and not have to worry about being sued for libel.
    :P
