Twitter girls back in force
p2pnet news view | Kids & Kartels:- Last week I ran a couple of posts on girls who were contacting me via Twitter, wondering if I wanted to see them naked.
Today, I had 17 waiting for me — well, 15, to be exact.
Two of them were outright invitations to porn pages, but, bouncing via http://www.my-live-cam.info/, and starting with ‘Lidia Witt’ (right), the remainder pointed to Spark Networks’ date.ca, a “wholly-owned subsidiary of Spark Networks, Inc., a NYSE Amex Company.”
And just so you know, “Spark Networks Limited does not conduct background checks on the members or subscribers of this website,” it emphasises in big black letters.
How long before Twitter starts experiencing the same kind of problems which have beset Craigslist?
Twitterers responding to these tweets would have to be right twits.
But there is a genuine concern.
There’s no way the people using Twitter for free (presumably) advertising can tell the age of people they’re spamming.
Stay tuned.

these sort of ‘ladies’ are the reason I don’t encourage youngsters to join twitter. Some of them are pretty disgusting. Until something can be done apart from locking your account I will continue to advise the young not to bother with it and stick to their msn chats. They are missing a valuable resource for making contacts and mining information, but what can you do?

Jon,
I can’t remember if I said this already but I suggest checking out twitblock.org. While it doesn’t proactively stop people from following you, it lets you scan all of your followers and block spambots. I run every couple of days to clear these out.
