BREIN’s Tim Kuik isn’t a brigand!

p2pnet news view Freedom | P2P:- Tim Kuik, the man who runs BREIN, the Dutch Hollywood-slash-Big Music anti-P2P, anti-file sharing organisation, isn’t using a heisted Sony laptop, as was recently suggested in Holland’s Geenstijl.

p2pnet knows this because it got it from the horse’s mouth, so to speak.

According to BREIN, and the RIAA, and the BPI, and the MPAA and the IFPI, and FACT, and all the other hundreds of entertainment industry copyright cop units, people who share with each other are thieves and criminals and there’s no difference between them and someone who walks into a store and steals a disc off the shelf.

With that in mind Kuik, said Geenstijl, is a, criminal who uses stolen stuff.

It reached that conclusion because Kuik, it’d been revealed, uses a Vaio which once belonged to a hacker.

In a Reader’s Write, “I hope I can clear things up a bit,” said gappi, going on »»»

The article refers to a small section from Elsevier magazine in which people tell about the electronic equipment they use.

Tim Kuik says the following about his laptop: `A very nice laptop. It was once confiscated from a hacker. I`d rather not give any more details, keeping in mind the people we generally deal with as a copyrights organisation`

In a response, “somehow, it`s appropriate his laptop is made by Sony, given that Sony is both a member of the Big 4 music gang and a Hollywood studio, and that it also makes excellent, easily concealed camcorders, as well as other gear,” we said.

Now, “The laptop I use was forfeited as part of the criminal conviction of a hacker,” Kuik tells p2pnet in a Reader’s Write, adding:

“BREIN represented the injured party. Of course we abide by the law, we can hardly ask others to do the same if we wouldn`t.”

Now you know. ;)

(Cheers, Tim)

[en]Tim, I do believe that you’re a nice person, but in the view of copyrights, I disagree with you!
People love music and movies is one of the main reasons that people share files!
The real reason behind the label’s download site called” ‘was entered into because the labels want complete control over the product / forests have before and after the product is SOLD!
The labels should simply change their way of selling and see free downloads as ads for fans who go to concerts and cinemas and listen to the radio!
I have the curtsey to hate you very much because you see/treated innocent people as thieves but to show that I / we pirates are not bad people I do not hate you!
I also find it rather unfair that movies earlier downloadable then they are for sale and the same counts for music!

    “BREIN’s Tim Kuik isn’t a brigand!”

    No. He is worst.

He is a corporate music parasite.

  4. Dreddsnik Says:

Someone is sure doing whatever they can to downplay this.

    I wonder why.

” “The laptop I use was forfeited as part of the criminal conviction of a hacker,”

So yes, he is, in fact using what used to be someone else’s property.
Where there is one item, it is reasonable to conclude there are many.

Corporate fat cats are profiting in more ways than one from the persecution of people for
doing something that has been proven to cause no harm to anyone.

It DOES look exactly like the war on drugs, which continues only because those who sponsor it
    gain wealth and property.

As long as guys like this can ‘get something for nothing’ the war on P2P won’t end.

Strange, people ‘getting something for nothing’ is what guys like him bitch about, right ?
