Google China exec off to pastures new

p2pnet news view | Advertising:- `I`m going to fucking kill Google!`

So, reportedly, swore Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer when he learned Gargoyle had induced Microsoft vp Kai-Fu Lee (right) to leave what was then Bill and the Boyz to lead an R&D center in China.

Ballmer was also said by John Battelle in his Searchblog to have had extremely unkind things to say about head Gargler Eric Schmidt, the least of them being, “Google’s not a real company. It’s a house of cards”.

Now Kai-Fu Lee is on his way again, resigning, “after working to establish the Internetgiant as a formidable player in the country,” says the Wall Street Journal.

He’ll be succeeded by two other Goglers, Boon-Lock Yeo, currently director of Google’s Shanghai engineering office, who’ll run engineering for Google China.

John Liu, who currently leads Google’s sales team in greater China, “will assume Mr. Lee’s business and operational responsibilities,” says the story, adding:

“Google still trails Chinese search leader Baidu by a wide margin.”
