4,000 people post copyright submissions
p2pnet news view | P2P | Politics:- More than 4,000 people have posted Copyright Consultation submissions with the overwhelming majority speaking out against Bill C-61, anti-circumvention rules, and for stronger fair dealing, blogs Michael Geist.
“While critics of fair copyright insist on characterizing many as anti-levy or anti-copyright, there have been only five submissions calling for the elimination of copyright and eight submissions that oppose any media levies,” says Geist, Canada research chair in internet and e-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa.
“By comparison, over 3,000 submissions focus on anti-circumvention, notice-and-notice, and stronger personal use rights,” he says, stressing there are just nine days left to join the thousands of Canadians who have already spoken out.

This will also make a great separation issue when the french Quebecers start losing their homes because of some “english” American company. The french won’t put up with that very long.

I will agree to limiting the free exchange of ideas, as proposed by C61, when the governement legalizes the summary execution of politicians upon allegation of unjust enrichment, negligence or incompetence. Seems like a fair exchange – i loose a right, politicians loose a right.
