The Sandbox Heist

p2pnet news view | Crime:- A girl’s collection of Japanese cards was was stolen at knifepoint by a gang near Gothenburg in western Sweden, says The Local.

The victim was only nine and her assailants were two boys aged 10.

The collection? Pokemon cards.

The boys and an as-yet unidentified playmate, “threatened the girl with a knife in their bid to steal her assortment of the popular Japanese cartoon trading cards,” says the story, going on:

“A woman witnessed the sandbox attack from her balcony, believing at the time that the boys had simply thrown sand at the girl and pushed her to the ground, reports the Göteborgs-Posten (GP) newspaper.

“But the actual course of events was much more violent, leading the girl`s mother to file a report with the police.”

The would-be Pokemon thieves and their friend, “will now be a case for social services,”  the story adds.

I think this refers to several Israeli and anti-Israeli attack posts I deleted.

Sorry, but p2pnet isn’t the place for this.

    Cheers!

Were the comments located in a story about Israel? If so, that makes them relevant.
As long as the comments were not overtly racist (like for instance, anything that contained ethnic slurs or referenced conspiracy theories), then they should have gone through, regardless of whether they were popular opinions or not. That’s what freedom of speech is all about!

It’s pretty obvious the poster posted under the wrong story. The Reader’s Write was meant for ‘Israel celebration sparks protests at TIFF’ – http://www.p2pnet.net/story/28188

I should have made that clear in my response.

Given that, IMO, they were racist. Otherwise they’d still be there.

    Cheers!

Way back in 1979 I had a complete set of Star Wars cards. I took them to school for show and tell. Someone snuck in during recess and stole them from the classroom. The teacher didn’t really care when I told her they had gone missing and I never saw them again. Thanks for reminding me of that and other traumas of my youth. I’m going to go crawl back into bed for the rest of the day now. :-/
