Facebook does a strip-tease
p2pnet news view Advertising | P2P:- Social advertising site Fa$ebook has launched another version for people with not-so-good net connections.
The Lite site, “will be faster and simpler because it offers fewer services than the main site,” says the BBC, noting, “Initially it is meant to support users in developing countries and where bandwidth constraints make the current version too slow to use.”
Examples? India and the US.
They’re the only places it’s currently available.
“It’s been said for a while that Facebook may have a long term problem with Twitter because it was too bloated, while Twitter was so light and simple — talk of that should die down now,” says TechCrunch, quoted in the Washington Post, adding:
“So how will Twitter respond? I have a feeling we’re about to enter a war similar to the war razor blade companies engage in. You have 2 blades? We’ll do 3! Then we’ll do 4, etc.”
No need to stay tuned.

Also available in Canada (just tested lite.facebook.com and went to the ‘lite’ version).
