German MP Tauss on kiddie porn charges
p2pnet news view | Politics:- German MP Joerg Tauss has been charged with obtaining and distributing indecent images of children.
The announcement came a day after he was stripped of his parliamentary immunity, says the BBC, going on, “Tauss admits possessing the images, but says he downloaded them during an investigation into child pornography.”
An investigation was launched, “after evidence was found in Tauss’ office, including mobile phone pictures and DVDs of underage sex,” says Deutsche Welle. “But prosecutors could not press charges until parliament voted to repeal his immunity status, which happened on Tuesday.”
Tauss, 56, is also accused of sharingchild pornography with others via email in six cases, according to prosecutors, says the story, adding:
“The former SPD politician has repeatedly denied the charges, insisting that he was merely conducting research as part of his efforts to break up a child pornography ring. In response, prosecutors said investigators had found ‘no evidence of this claim’.”
Tauss left the Social Democrats,but refused to step down as an MP, instead joining Germany’s Pirate Party, says the BBC.

Hmmm, the more paranoid part of me wonders if he AGREED to do this, to join and discredit the Pirate Party.
Stranger things have happened.
The Pirate Party of Germany really needs to distance themselves from this person, loudly and publicly.
