SIIA Klingons vs Pirates video

p2pnet news view P2P:- Entertainment cartel efforts to use videos to pass (as in excrete) messages about copying and file sharing are always hilarious, and one of the best (worst) was the hoary Don’t Copy That Floppy anti-piracy farce.

It inspired the the BSA (Business Software Alliance, or Bull Shit Association), funded by the likes of Microsoft and Apple, to produce a DON’T DO IT! video featuring a scurvy pirate.

Now, “Hey,” says Jaclyn. “Have you seen the new Don’t Copy That Floppy video from the Software &  Information Industry Association?

“It’s trying to encourage kids to stop illegal  file downloading by threats of prison gangs and klingons.

“Seriously.”

Seriously?

Yup. Because, “It’s not just a copy. It’s a crime.”

Did they pay a copyright fee to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry’s heirs to use the Klingons, do you think?

No need to stay tuned.

Just watched that piece of crap they call a video that was put out by SIIA, what a load of horse hockey. These clowns seem to think that everyone is a pirate, well,we’re not. I’m so tired of these clowns and their spurious claims that they are losing billions to piracy when the truth is much simpler, no one wants to pay an arm and a leg for a game, video or music CD that is simply not worth what they want. The sooner they, the Big, The RIAA, The MPAA, and the BSA, wake up and smell the coffee the sooner they’ll realize that suing their customer base and making false claims against them is getting not only old but expensive to them. Hell, the amount of money they say they lost to piracy and downloading has, in reality, been lost paying their lawyers to run these frivolous law suits, bribing juries and judges to let their falsified information in as truth and denying anyone who has the balls to stand up to them no matter how much the truth is pushed into their faces and the light of day.

That totally cracked me up lol. That’s about the only impact it’s going to have most likely too. Actually, I think it’s given me a hankering to surf on over to The Pirate Bay to see if there is anything good to download since yesterday. See ya! :p

“It’s not a copy, it’s a crime”. Let me correct that statement: “It’s a copy, but we bought all the laws we wanted to make it a crime so that we don’t need to adapt to the Internet. Thank you for watching our propaganda clip”. No need to stay tuned, indeed.
