Abba celebrate Abba
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- A crowd of more than 40,000 people turned out to help Swedish music superstars Abba (you can spell it backwards and it’s still the same) pay tribute to themselves at Hyde Park in London, England, last night.
“The performance, dubbed ‘Thank You for the Music: a celebration of the music of Abba’ and broadcast live on the BBC, included appearances by original Abba-members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, as well as a number of other high profile stars, including Kylie Minogue, Chaka Khan,” says The Local.
“Thank you for singing so beautifully,” Ulvaeus told worshippers, according to the story.
You’ll recall that in February Ulvaeus said people who supported The Pirate Bay (back when it still was The Pirate Bay) were fighting for the `freedom` to be lazy and stingy, said The Register, going on:
Ulvaeus, who also co-produced the box office hit Mamma Mia, wrote an op ed on the Swedish website Newsmill in which he berated those who endorse piracy.
He claimed people who share files of copyrighted material were wrong to portray a David and Goliath scenario when it comes to individuals effectively sticking it to the man in this case the movie and record industry.
`But anything they steal was once one person`s idea, a single little person. They don`t want to talk about that,` he wrote.
Meanwhile, it’s not well-known that Ulvaeus also wrote the remarkable tribute to immortal MPAA martial arts expert Jackie Chan.

Another pointless example of a washed up music group wanting to be paid forever based on PAST work.
I really like their music, still have it, but what have they done CURRENTLY thats worth listening to??

Lazy and stingy? I’m a fan of Abba and have purchased a number of their CD’s over the years. I’m also a supporter of The Pirate Bay (or at least the ideals behind it). I’m all for the artist being compensated for their work if it is of any real value to me. I’m against greedy corporations who attack and sue their own customers, middlemen who would rather see draconian laws passed which curtail freedom and the natural rights of individuals rather than innovate. The words of Ulvaeus sound like your typical brainwashed artist, someone who has been spoon fed the lies of the record companies and hasn’t bothered to take the time to look into the other side of the issue. I’m sorry, but could you repeat for me who exactly is the one that is being lazy and stingy here? It certainly doesn’t sound like it is the people you’re waggling your finger at Ulvaeus, that’s for sure.
