WANTED! Your old guitar!
p2pnet news view | P2P:- In August last year, “If you have an old guitar you don`t want any more, there are kids and their teachers who`ll definitely find a use for it,” p2pnet posted,” going on:
“But it doesn`t have to be a guitar. It can also be a banjo, fiddle, flute, sax, trumpet, or anything else.
“As long as it`ll hold a tune, it`ll be used.”
Now, “we are still collecting musical instruments for the kids down in the Gulf Coast,” emails Bill Hudson.
In the story mentioned above, “In 2006 my late friend Bill Evans, wrote, ‘we`re no longer seeing New Orleans on the news every day and we tend to forget about it’, I said, but, ‘there are still needs we in particular can help with.’
“Musical instruments used by local schools were destroyed when hurricanes swept through the region, devastating it, and Bill, who hailed from Roanoke, Virginia, and others decided to do what they could do to fill the vacuum.
“Bill Hudson was another of Evans` friends and he and others who believe music should be a major part of children`s lives started collecting musical instruments.”
That hasn’t changed and the effort to collect instruments for the kids continues.
If you have a musical instrument of some kind you don’t want, do yourself proud — join David Amram and donate it.
