HMV Goodbye Blues

p2pnet news view Music | Advertising:- “We were doing a Google adwords campaign, encouraging fans of a certain artist to visit HMV to buy a bundle download,” says Media Junction Digital.

“And the band were paying for it.”

BUT —- “then we get word that HMV objected to their name being featured in the advert due to a ‘policy’,” says the post, going on »»»

So, let me understand – your business model is fucked, CD sales have gone down nearly 50% in 5 years, and when a band use their own money to promote sales in your shop, you would rather stick with a ‘policy’ preventing this from happening.

“Goodbye HMV. It was nice knowing you …”

No surprise here. It is the music industry afterall. Why would the people selling the music have any more intelligence than the ones distributing it?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

HMV is over rated and priced anyways

  3. Reader's Write Says:

HMV has kept up well. I am willing to bet that HMV sells more movies and video games than CDs now. They also started selling books, which is interesting.
