Mackenzie Phillips says she slept with her father

She says she had an incestuous relationship with her father.
It began in 1979 when she was 19, ending 10 years later after she became pregnant, says NME.
“In her book, entitled High on Arrival, she alleges she first had sexual intercourse with her father on the night before she was to be married to a member of the Rolling Stones’ entourage,” says the BBC, going on
“I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father,” she writes.
Phillips claims the sexual relationship lasted a decade and ended when she became pregnant.

She was unsure who had fathered the child and claims to have had an abortion paid for by her father.
“I never let him touch me again,” she told Winfrey, calling the alleged incest “an abuse of power”.
Phillips, now 49 and who has a history of drug abuse, said she,” forgave her father on his deathbed in 2001, describing him as ‘very tortured man’,” the story adds.

Great, another has-been wannabe celebrity tearfully relating another alleged tragedy for $$$.
Grow up… if she ‘forgave him on his deathbed’ then why is this “news”?

Ok, first of all there’s no concrete evidence that any of this actually happened, only her say-so and perhaps others.
So, assuming it did happen, she can’t claim “abuse” – except perhaps the first time when she allegedly “woke up” to it. She was 19 and therefore an adult – heck, you can star in a porn movie at 18 remember! A child of say 10 or so is a totally different matter and is a gross abuse of trust and a permanently damaging attack.
She didn’t have to sleep with him a second time; she could have reported it and he could have gone to jail for it. Or kept quite and just told him no. Totally her choice.
So, she let it go on for a whole decade? Througout her twenties? Nah, she wanted that relationship, period. Sure screwed up her chances of finding a proper mate during her best years though, didn’t it?
Ultimately though, that she could stoop so low to smear her dad’s name eight years later with unproven allegations just to make money, is the kind of low, disgusting behaviour I would expect from drug-addled “rock star” types like her.

This is a pityful story however anyone looks at it and I see no point or purpose in wallowing in past events that cannot now be resolved or investigated. All in all a very disappointing life it seems one way or the other this lady has lived

Actually she should be in jail. If she was legally an adult in the USA then she committed a crime and should be jailed. She knew what she was doing – anyone else (regular non-celebrity related people) would still be serving time.

She should be arrested for sure. She understood all along and participated in an incestuous relationship with total understanding. She is just as guilty as her father who is not here to defend himself. Her statement should be enough. Who is to know if SHE was not the instigator under the influence of drugs? She should be in jail. Larry King should have made a citizen’s arrest on CNN in my opinion.

Whilel your story opened up a can or worms for me, it began the healing process,, and I thank you for being brave enough to come forward with your story. You are well spoken and consistent through all of the interviews that I have seen…..Always remember, that you are a perfect child of God…..your story helped me, and I am certain that it is helping others…..which is what you said you wanted to do…..Stand tall….no matter what….for you are helping people who are hurting and blaming themselves. Larry King asks why write this book now. She replies hesitates and says I was talking to my wiritting partner and Mackenzie Phillips says BLAH BLAH BLAH.
I think her bank account is almost gone. She acts like a using addict to me. It’s just this thing Addicts know about eacj other.
She waits this long to cash in on this time in her life Yah right.She has all the answers.
She actting like she was 30 years younger. Trouble ,Unkept look and no TALANT Her 22 year old son feels sorry for her .

Thank you so much for ur story I thought I was all alone in the worls of drugs and incest I’m a 45 year old lesbian woman who experienced almost the same thing as u makensie without the fame my father started molesting me when I was 10 years old not knowing he had lots of drugs in him he made me believe that it was ok for him to in his words to teach me all about sex time went on when I was 19 we were in a hotel in manhatten I passed out after doing drugs all nite with my father and I woke up to find him having sex with me I ran to a pay phone called my mom and told her everything since I was a child thank god she beleived me but that didn’t make all the demons go away I suffered my own addictons after that trying to numb the pain I went thru I’ve been to therapy to anonymous programs and like u had to forgive my father for what he did the pain still occurs at times but with prayer and willingness to live I survived there is much more to my story I would love to be able to speak to ms philips personally about my story we have so much in common when I heard her speaking it was like I was sitting in the chair telling my story thank you so much for making this public I’m sure you have helped so many people who were scared or ashamed to talk about it for years I blamed myself.
