For Sale: Cisco code – $24K
p2pnet.net News:- Last July the Larry Hobbles (mordor79_at_mighty.co.za) and the Source Code Club were touting souce code/design docs for both Enterasys Intrusion Detection System (NIDS/HIDS) and Napster server and clients.
The ‘club’ closed down soon after, stating: "Our business model is currently being re-designed to alleviate some of the initial fears our customers faced."
But it promised to re-open and it appears it’s indeed back again, this time peddling code for Cisco’s PIX firewall software – for a mere $24,000.
"The Source Code Club reappeared online Monday, using messages to online security discussion groups to announce that it was back in business," says the IDG News Service, continuing:
"The group is using e-mail and messages posted in a Usenet group to communicate with customers and receive orders for the source code of several security products, including Cisco’s PIX 6.3.1 firewall and intrusion detection system (IDS) software from Enterasys Networks Inc., the group said."
Cisco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
