Lily Allen at BDO in Oz
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- The Big Day Out (BDO) is an annual music festival held in several cities in Australia and New Zealand in late January, says Wikipedia, going on:
“It started in Sydney in 1992, spread to Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth by 1993, with the Gold Coast and Auckland joining in 1994. As of 2003, it has featured seven or eight stages (depending on the venue) accommodating popular contemporary rock music, electronic music, mainstream international acts and local acts.”
So guess who’s in the lineup for the upcoming BDO?
“She’s brash, she’s bold, she’s magnificently mouthy,” says the blurb.
Mouthy, definitely. Magnificently? Not so much.
She is, of course, Lily Allen, still suffering the consequences of attacking file sharers, the people who helped to make her famous.
She said she was packing music in, but then decided she wasn’t, and now, when she talks, “BIG DAY OUT listens,” it says.
Among those also slated to appear, says Perth Now, are Eskimo Joe, Groove Armada, Grinspoon, The Mars Volta, Ladyhawke, Dizzee Rascal, Peaches, Tame Impala, Lisa Mitchell and Kasabian.
BDO will kick off in Auckland on January 15, before travelling to the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth throughout January, sister story, adding:
“Tickets go on sale Wednesday October 7 for Sydney, October 8 for the Gold Coast, and October 9 for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.”
