MPAA to sue p2p file sharers
p2pnet.net News:- The movie industry, “helped many of my own dreams come true,” says California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, going on:
“We must teach our children that the illegal downloading of movies and music is wrong, and that it has consequences.”
Schwarzenegger, a former body-builder from Austria, soared to fame as a movie muscle man.
“I applaud the decision by the MPAA and its member companies to take strong action, and I join the U.S. Department of Justice, the State of California, the recording industry and others in making sure that people use the great promise of the Internet responsibly and ethically, and that motion pictures remain an important part of California and the nation’s economy in the decades to come,” he says.
He is, of course, referring to yesterday’s announcement that, following in the wake of the music industry, his former bosses will now sue p2p file sharers.
Schwarzenegger’s name is also on a Hollywood inspired bill making it a misdemeanor to swap movies or music online without revealing the trader’s e-mail address.

How about our children teaching their fathers that:
A. the world will not end simply because a few things remain non monetized
B. profit does not exist without efficiency, and in order to have that efficiency, movie stars dont need 30 million dollars for every time they walk on stage.
C. the complete invasion of our personal rights and micromanagement of our use of consumer electronics is NOT the purpose of intellectual property, nor does that constitute a proper balance.

You’re problem - like my problem, is that they don’t care about what constitutes a proper balance even though the reality that every law pushed onto us lately has been driven by Gov’t members who’ve had their pockets lined (very well) by RIAA/MPAA interests……
We’re the majority opinion but without the billions to back it up (directly to our Gov’t officials) they don’t care to hear it.
