Gandhi — Google poster boy
p2pnet news view Advertising | P2P:- Is that Ghandi?
It is, isn’t it.
And his image is being touted by giant online advertising company Google as its logo — that’s what we see here in Canada, at least.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was India’s political and spiritual leader during the Indian independence movement.
“He was the pioneer of satyagraha — resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, firmly founded upon ahimsa or total non-violence — which led India to independence and has inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world,” says the Wikipedia.
Asked what he thought of Western civilization, “I think it would be a good idea,” he said.
It’s hard to see what Gargle, the only company to completely fail an in-depth investigation into privacy practices employed by key Net-based companies, in 2007, has to do with civil rights and freedom.
But never mind.
Gargle will, of course, have paid a substantial copyright fee to Ghandi’s estate for using him as a poster boy in a logo displayed hundreds of millions of times around the world.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I seriously doubt that Gandhi would have helped the Chinese government’s censorship bullshit.
