The Pirate Bay deal ‘in peril’

p2pnet news view P2P:- The Yes It Is No It Isn’t The Pirate Bay slash Global Gaming Factory (GGF) deal is ‘in peril,’ says a headline in The Local.

Has it ever been otherwise?

But now it’s taken on all the elements of genuine farce.

Only on last month we posted, “It would seem Global Gaming Factory X`s effort to buy The Pirate Bay are going under for the last time.

“Despite reports that everything was going swimmingly, repeated ad nauseum by TPB and GGF fans, it`s been clear almost since the beginning the deal was doomed, the first indication coming when Wayne Rosso, who`d been working with GGF owner Hans Pandeya, decided he didn`t like the way things were going and retired from the proceedings.

“The deal has been fraught with problems.”

Now, “Global Gaming Factory (GGF) admitted on Wednesday that its planned purchase of The Pirate Bay file sharing site is in danger of falling apart,” says The Local.

On August 27, the much-touted date of formal wrapping up, “Nothing can stop it,”  proclaimed GGF boss Hans Pandeya .

But today’s announcement, “carried a different tone, citing the pending bankruptcy claim as one of the factors that may ultimately scuttle the deal,” says The Local, adding:

“The acquisition process stalled because of a bankruptcy filing against GGF and despite several attempts by GGF to clarify the situation uncertainty remains,” said the company.

;)

Rupert Murdoch is waiting in the wings, for sure.

  2. RIAA Hater Says:

I’m just annoyed TPB even made a deal with them in the first place.

  3. We are all loosing Says:

Slowly but surely the piratebay has become just like the people they hate so much.

It went wrong when they chose to get involved with a Nazi investor. Then they got addicted to the big bucks and others got addicted to them.

They have betrayed a lot of their friends at several internet business (by using their infrastructure without permission which would get their friends into legal trouble) and now they’ve ended up at the company of a person who has been arrested for involvement with large scale XTC production, who has admitted himself that he was operating the largest online porn distribution center in Europe and has been tied to a scam involving domain squatting.

Furthermore, the new friend of The Piratebay has time and again threatened several tech persons and internet companies if they wouldn’t follow his instructions.

The Pirate Bay is going down and they try to take as many people with them as possible. At all costs.

    @We are all loosing

    wtf are you on about?

  5. Denniz Says:

I also want to advise you that during the time period that I have been in
Germany Mr. Scheepers made a number of accusations against me. Namely
that my luggage which was returned to Mr. Burger under the custody of an
individual by the name of Sven Olaf Kamphuis (also arrested during the XTC
lab incident) contained heroin. Mr. Scheepers has withdrawn this
    allegation and apologized to me.

    wtf are you on about?

  7. Vuze Says:

It’s not only about Sven Olaf Kamphuis, it’s also about Herman Xennt the other owner of Cyberbunker. He has been involved in a lot of illegal stuff for years AND has been in a fight with ICANN. I think Piratebay has a grudge against ICANN for not helping them out.

    Check this:

    XENNT, Herman, Johan
METHOD, TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS MODEL RELATED SPECIAL INTERNET EXTENSIONS
In organizations like ICANN there are used a exhorbitant number of criteria – most of them arbitrary – and an enormous entry fee is asked. In example the approval of the TLD .eu has taken a very long time. This slow policy has created an alternative circuit of extensions which are available on the Internet, but which can not be accessed by most of the Internet users since these extensions are not stored in the traditional Root Servers.
So we can say that the actual Internet is a restricted network, and that the “real Internet” is much larger. This patent wants to give a solution for this problem, and describes a method and technology which can grant very fast such alternative extensions, and by that way enlarge the possibilities to access the full Internet for Internet users.

I wonder why people are still concerned with the old TBP since the new one is sailing and since most likely most of the torrent you get are indexed by the new ship who is untouchable since decentralized.

Now the entertainment parasites Vivendi Universal, Sony/BMG,EMI, Time Warner also try to go after the decentralized networks with Shareaza trying to stop the development of it. So far no luke though. The music parasites and gangsters managed to corrupt one of the Shareaza participant and managed to STEAL (there is no other word for it!) their domain name. Now they are trying to register Shareaza as a trademark to whom they of course have no right. Also they are trying to intimidate the participating developers.

The good news is that not only it did not stop the development of the real Shareaza but there is of course a myriad of open source applications to replace Shareaza. Moreover even if the parasites managed to kill the project it will not prevent the older Shareaza client from working and maintain the network.

The Fake Shareaza containing a Trojan virus: not to download under any circonstances: Shareaza.com This is a scam mounted by Vivendi Universal under the covert name Discordia. The server is in Israel to avoid beeing shut down in the US of course!

The Real Shareaza at Source Forge: sourceforge.net/projects/shareaza/ and shareaza.sourceforge.net/

As often this type of crime is futile and will achieve nothing save for having their perpetrators killed.

    Good riddance!

  9. Reader's Write is right Says:

and the funny thing is brain is hunting down the people, not the technology. They sure aren’t going to target their source of revenue.

bittorrent will survive. the pirate bay boys too, but behind bars.

a year can be very long for a drug addict, a nazi, a pathological liar who is in need of attention and a BOFH. Lots of time to write letters to your Asian women though.
