p2pnet – taking a work break :)
p2pnet news view | P2P | Music:- Thanks to a lot of effort from Chris Ovenden in England – who’s quite literally been burning the midnight oil — and expert Linux assistance from Steve L’Esperance (canadajams.ca) down yonder in Ontario, Canada, I now have a work-site for a2f2a.
I plan to spend tomorrow and most of the weekend massaging it and getting it organised. So there’ll be very little in the way of posts. Instead, I’ll add roundups, every now and then.
However, there WILL be at least one highly appropriate item — from Corey Denis.

My theory is: Plenty of artists are getting to 1,000 True Fans, but it`s going to take some time for them to prove the model because it takes time to build true fans in today`s two-way conversation economy.
One-on-one fan building using touring and social media can be painful. I`m not saying it`s fair, I`m not saying it`s right, I`m just saying that if playing music full-time is your dream, passion, and calling I believe it`s possible.
It’s worth the read.
Cheers! And thanks …

I bet Bill Evans would have loved to get involved in this project.

The Pirate Bay has been down for several days now and it all seems to have gone a bit quiet on the news front about this.
How big media managed to take it out, is yet another demonstration of the corruption right in the heart of the American government.
What’s a decent replacement site?

@Cynix
The Pirate Bay is not down – although I cannot access it directly
I can however access it absolutely fine through a VPN!

He will be involved — through me.

Another torrent tracker that’s as easy to use as TPB and is generally recommended by people on here – I only download occasionally and it tended to be TPB.

Here’s a good one. Ars Technica has an article called “Feeling guilt over P2P use? Piracy Payback wants to help” here:
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2009/10/feeling-guilt-over-p2p-use-piracy-payback-wants-to-help.ars
This “initiative” sounds like either a joke or a scam.
