Dole abandons bananas lawsuit

p2pnet news view P2P | Movies | Freedom:- America’s Dole Food Company went bananas when a Swedish film company made a documentary focusing on efforts by US trial lawyer Juan Dominguez to represent fruit workers.

They were, “allegedly made sterile after Dole sprayed them with a banned pesticide,” as The Local phrased it.

Dole is the “leading grower and packer” of such food items as bananas, pineapples, grapes, strawberries, and other fresh and frozen fruits, says the Wikipedia.

The company sued Swedish filmmaker Fredrik Gertten, claiming the documentary was inaccurate and defamatory.

However, Dole has now dropped the case, says The Local.

“It’s a really positive development,” he story has Gertten saying, adding:

“It’s thanks to the support we’ve received.”

“A court in the US was going to rule on the matter in two weeks. I suspect that Dole realized they had a weak case. They probably thought it was best to pull back before the trial.”

If I see dole on th epackage I don’t buy it. I know it might be poisonous justy like the RIAA “music”

And if dole has problems with it’s bananas, well, just tell their executives to take Viagra. They need it.

They need something for their brain too just like the “music” industry parasites. . . heu I mean executives.

  2. Devil's Advocate Says:

I’m sure Chiquita and half the others have similar skeletons in their closets.

  3. Quartz Says:

In some communities there is not enough money on the planet to make up for the loss of their reproductive facilities, this is of course a clear case of “revenue at any cost”.
The disappointing part is of course the cost on the employees health is unlikely to be a factor of concern even after the lawsuit is over.

    Yay
