The RIAA’s first victim was a 12 year old girl whose mother bought a for-pay version of Kazaa (actually the normally-free Kazaa Lite) – a scam that not only was selling something that should have been free, but also making deceptive claims such as being a legal download service.

How do we know that the claims of Mercora/Grokster radio being legal would hold up? If people are inadvertently uploading copyrighted songs (some I-radio applications make downloaders also upload), that can be a dangerous thing.

Anyway, the difference between “streaming” and “downloading” is
essentially just cosmetic. There are many 3rd-party apps that capture audio streams and save them to disk – so after deleting the unwanted songs, the end result of internet radio is really no different from downloading through any other P2P.
