a2f2a.com needs a logo

p2pnet news view P2P:- Hi all: a2f2a.com went online about a week ago under the premises:

  • There’s no technological solution to the problems artists face following the digitisation of music; and,
  • P2P users are more than willing to pay for music if they can be sure their money is going to the artists whose work they enjoy.

The site is steaming ahead, but it lacks something important.

A logo. The one on the right is just a temp, so we figured what better way to find the perfect image than to have a contest ?

So if you’re graphically inclined … :)

Send  your entry to p2pnet @ shaw dot ca with November 15 as the closing date.

We’ll put the 10 best together on a page here on p2pnet, and a2f2a, and we’ll anounce the results toward the end of November.

What will the winner receive?

Stay tuned on that. ;)

Cheers!

Jon Newton – p2pnet / a2f2a

  1. Crosbie Fitch Says:

How about a logo that depicts the reflection of a2f as if in a mirror such that the ‘f’ is slightly bisected, but remains looking like an ‘f’. The final logo will still read a2f2a, but with the ‘2a’ shown in a mirror.

Another idea still involves a mirror but utilises the reflected ‘2′ to depict a heart shape. Fans love their artists, and artists love their fans, etc.

  2. Crosbie Fitch Says:

Oh, I almost forgot. If my ideas are used in the logo and the site ends up making money, I’ll be sending round the lads to collect my annual royalties. That’s only fair isn’t it?

  3. Jon Says:

    Yeh, right, Crosbie.

    heh

    Cheers!

  4. Devil's Advocate Says:

Is there a “closing date” for this contest?

  5. Jon Says:

@ DA: There is now. ;)

    Cheers!

  6. rabbit80 Says:

I’m no artist, but here is my 1st effort

Thanks – I’ve added it to the others in the logo file.

    Cheers!

  7. Eric Says:

Sent one in. Hope you find the logo you need.

  8. Devil's Advocate Says:

Hey guys! Ya got to the 15th, eh!
    ;)

  9. Cynix Says:

How about instead of simply having the pictures emailed to you, they are published on p2pnet – and critically, be free of any stupid copyright restrictions?

This way, others can view them and get ideas for even better logos. Making new versions of ones already displayed would be encouraged too and will help to increase the quality of submissions and their number.

After the closing date, you could even have a user poll of which ones are the best and take it from there.

  10. Jon Says:

    @ Cynix:

They will be on one page. And there will be a reader poll — but it’ll be on a2f2a.

And one idea at a time will be sufficient. :)

Stupid copyright restrictions? What are you talking about? heh

    Cheers!

  11. lando calrissian Says:

    are animated logos allowed :)

  12. Jon Says:

    Heh. Nope. Just static pix.

    Cheers!

  13. Cynix Says:

“Stupid copyright restrictions? What are you talking about? heh”

I guess that could have been a little clearer, hehe.

What I meant that you put a condition that any logos submitted are free from copyright restrictions placed on them by their creator. Perhaps a Creative Commons licence like you use would be appropriate?
