Where is the fucking solidarity between bloggers? ISPs?

When Associated Press is threatening Google over newspaper aggregation on Google News, why Google does not pull out ALL stories of AP from its news aggregator and search index and does not pass the threat to other players so that they can do so in solidarity? After all, no news aggregator has an obligation to carry any story from any source.

These Arctic Monkeys stories should be pulled down from all blogs - in solidarity.

No ISP should connect RIAA/MPAA/BSA and other lawyer firms, etc. to the Internet, because they are _malicious_ to the Internet. There is no obligation to the ISP to sign a contract with anyone.

This individualistic culture of profit is killing the fight, unfortunately.

Hi jodru,

On behalf of Domino Records and the Arctic Monkeys, we would kindly ask you not to post copies of "Humbug" on your site (or any non-preview tracks from the Arctic Monkeys' new album - release date 24th August).

We do appreciate that you are fans of / are promoting the Arctic Monkeys, but the label and artist would greatly appreciate your co-operation in removing your links to the pirate files in question.

Thank you for respecting the artist's and label's wishes and, if you / your readers want good quality, non-pirated, preview tracks, then a full length version of "Crying Lightning" is available for fans and bloggers to link to / post / host etc ... .. two videos from the web transmission of the band performing the new album are also available at xxx ... .. for further details of the new album, on-line promotions, videos and 2009 shows, check-out the official Arctic Monkeys site at xxx, as well as xxx ... .. and keep an eye on these official sources for details of further Arctic Monkeys news, mixes, preview material and on-line promotions.

As you will appreciate, this post is written on a without prejudice basis and, as such, all of our clients' accumulated, worldwide rights and remedies remain strictly reserved : please excuse this required formality.

With Thanks & Regards,

I am disappointed with the suggestion that Arctic Monkeys somehow harnessed the P2P community to 'market' themselves. This could not be further from the truth. The P2P community embraced AM because they made some great demo's to sell at their early gigs which were then enthusiastically shared among this community without the involvement or knowledge of the group. After signing to Domino the independent label decided (wrongly or rightly) to hire a Web Sheriff to restict access to their follow up album - a decision taken without consultation with the group or with their involvement.

To suggest they 'shit on their fans' is pretty slanderous and promotes false and misleading image of a group who should be celebrated. The editorial of this piece reveals a disappointing bias and an ignorance about the values this band subscribe too. Get back to an intelligent debate please but avoid the one thing you are warning us not to do - "attacking others".
