Doing the Disney Stomp
p2pnet.net News:- The British Queen is already listed as an ardent supporter of the “record giants now battling the internet song-swappers”.
However, the band still has its admirers, among whom is another UK band – the Kleptones. who created Night at the Hip-Hopera, “one of the the best mashup remixes I’ve ever heard, a fluid blend of classic and modern hip hop with Queen’s epic catalog,” says Andy Baio on his Waxy.org blog, going on that the Questions track is like, “a plunderphonic call to arms against bad copyright law”.
It is indeed amazing, and you’ll find it – and other Hopera tracks – on one of the sites listed below. And in case of slip-ups (and for purely educational purposes) p2pnet also has the Questions mp3
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser. .
The album has always been freely-distributable and “never made a dime,” says Baio.
But – the Walt Disney Corporation owns Hollywood Records, which in turn owns the the rights to Queen’s catalogue. So naturally, it fired a Cease & Desist order at Baio for hosting the Kleptones’ epic.
“It’s depressing to think that our horribly broken copyright law means that nobody can legally hear this album or create others like it,” says Baio.
“The irony is that I’m not even hosting the files anymore. The links on my site are all redirected to someone else’s server, and have been for weeks. At any rate, I’ll be forced to remove the direct links by November 23.”
The links (again, for educational purposes only) are at the moment:

Baio also has an amazing list of most of the primary sources.
And last, but not least, “Also related, if you haven’t seen it, the amazing (and also illegal) music video for DJ Dangermouse’s ‘Encore’ track off the notorious Grey Album,’ says Baio, adding: “It combines vintage Beatles footage with a Jay-Z performance, with CG effects and several special surprises.”
The official site is now offline so Waxy.org is mirroring it and, once more, just in case of problems, p2pnet has it here as well.
The Grey Video is a blast. Like it’s going to have some kind of negative effect on corporate sales? But what can you say? Anyone who wants to stop something like this has very serious problems.
Little wonder Big Music is on its death bed.

What’s with considering links just like providing the file itself?
Does this means we’ll have to post links without them being actual links?
Do lawyers even know what links are?
