Point, Click, Kill
p2pnet.net News:- Want to gun something down online – like really gun something down?
Then you’ll be keenly interested in Live-Shot, a Point, Click, Shoot web site which, if owner John Underwood is successful, will soon be Point, Click, Kill.
“Everything is done through a computer and the internet,” says the site.
“A paid membership will allow for access to the range viewing camera(s) at any time. Members can then schedule a reserved session time which allows exclusive control of the shooting system to fire at a choice of various reactive targets.”
“Reactive” targets?
Well, not yet. But soon, Underwood hopes. Because he’s also planning real-world hunts featuring Aoudad (Barbary Sheep) native to North Africa, Wild Hog – “These animals have become well established and will appear anywhere there is available food and cover” – and Blackbuck Antelope from India.
Like playing a video game?
“No, this is real,” says the FAQ. “What you see on your screen thru the camera is what is there. When you activate the fire control, you are sending a signal to the firing mechanism which discharges a round. You control the camera and firearm.”
Pretty soon, the Pentagon will buy Underwood out and you’ll see USĀ Abrams main battle tanks blasting people and things remotely.
They’ll hook up through W4, the US war-net-to-be which’ll span the globe and tap satellites.
Or are they doing that already?

Does anyone else think networking guns is a bad idea?
All you need is to put these guns in front of someone (or maneuver the people in front of the guns) and you’re ready to start murdering people online.
And then who gets to go to jail?
Those setting the guns up or some more or less anonymous people who sent data to make the guns fire?
And what if their network is compromised?
Oh, the possibilities for mayhem and death…
Isn’t there some laws against allowing anonymous people to use your guns remotely?

What’s worse is that they market this on their website as a way for handicapped hunters to continue to engage in their favorite past time. Frankly, if your body can’t handle going out into the woods with a gun and shooting an unarmed animal I don’t think there should be a technological work around. Honestly, if these hunters were real men they’d do it with their bare hands. Real challenge, picking off an animal from a good distance with advanced firepower. These are the same idiots who claim they need automatic weapons for hunting…

hello
point, click, kill? where’s the sport of Hunting?
Plus fact where’s the Conservation agent?
Can weapons be allowed after a certain hour?
Plus, controlling those weapons with a mouse? what if a child or pet got up on the computor desk and stepped on the mouse? who just died? this is a threat to any and everyone.
So what is the excuse if someone is killed innocently?
No Excuses! this must be stopped. Human life is not someone’s video game.
Just like i saw the first two weeks of the iraq war.
with all the cameras. Those people fighting are human beings not a darn video game or human robot.
