Joss Stone makes a good point that unfortunately few other singers and musicians care to weigh in on. The sad fact that a lot of the recording "stars" are nothing more than creations cooked up in smoke-filled rooms by PR marketing experts. They have no talent and are really just the "hired help" filling a roll, doing what they've been coached to do. Sure, that's nothing new, it's been that way since at least the time of The Monkeys.

The true artists are the ones who were already successful touring and performing long before ever getting a recording contract. The fake artists couldn't do anything without their managers wiping their noses and their label bosses pulling the strings, and without the talents of all the unseen people in the recording studio who excel at making manure resemble gold.

Joss is right, silly Lily is another talentless prat the music industry force feeds the sheeple, beleive me, there isn't alot of damage being done to her career by file sharing, her works are not on the 'top 10 pirated works', if you get me.

coming from a vicarious file sharer, that would be me, I went and found some stuff by Josh and it was pretty good, and if she weren't on a label, id woulda bought her CD..

Is it time for Dave Rowntree (FAC co-chairman) to join the discussion on a2f2a?

I read an article in the Observer (1st Nov) of his interest in campaigning re music piracy (a stalwart pro-copyright music publisher I know thought I might be interested).

"Do recording artists who stomp Lily Allen when she’s down expect that being seen on the “right” side of file sharing will help their own careers?"

I'm sure that would depend on whether or not the majority of file sharers have any sympathy for Lily. Some think she's effectively already "made her bed", and will automatically, of course, approve of what they're hearing from Joss.

The formerly outspoken anti-P2P crusader Lily Allen seems to have suddenly clammed up. Some questions:

Did her record label order her silence?
Did she think that becoming the next Lars Ulrich would not negatively affect her career?
Do recording artists who stomp Lily Allen when she's down expect that being seen on the "right" side of file sharing will help their own careers?

Can't wait for a Joss Stone vs. Lily Allen in Celebrity Death Match
