i think it’s true that who ever tells the stoy defines the culture. that’s why being a wizard seems normal in LOTR, using magic is common place in FFVIII, and people wear next to nothing, or the strangest cloths ever, never gets a second glance in .hack.

Not for nothing, but “Whoever tells the stories defines the culture” is about the poorest arguement I’ve heard so far on this topic, considering 4,000 years of world culture is steeped in violence and sexuality far more explicit and varied than anything I’ve encountered in a video game.

And incidently, the brain continues to develope well into a person’s twenties, long after cigarettes, alcohol, pornography and M rated video games are legally available.
