My letter to the editor is at http://www.digital-copyright.ca/discuss/4087

Please send letters in, and copy your member of parliament. This is not a time to be a couch-potatoe complainer, but a time to get involved. We need to pull everything we can to reach parliament to turn around the insane direction they are headed.

See what others are writing -- is this a "lost cause"? I believe this is only the case if we don't stand up and loudly be counted!

Please help get these articles to reach the people that matter.

Do you know who your MP is? If not, then please browse the electoral district list at http://www.digital-copyright.ca/taxonomy/view/or/1 and find your MP. Try to talk to them, first by writing an email and then trying to follow it up with a phone call and a meeting. Use the interface on the Digital-copyright.ca site to organize with other people in your riding or region to talk to them.

Right now the loudest voice that parliament is hearing is the recording industry that is misdirecting them and suggesting that they are protecting Canadian creativity. We know differently and know that the recording industry represents the greatest threat to creativity, but parliament doesn't yet recognize this.

That was one of the most thorough, and highly enlightening articles I've read here in a while. Too bad this kind of journalism doesn't reach the people that really matter when it comes to these issues, where it could do the most good. As always, education is the key, otherwise ignorance prevails. Anyways, I look forward to reading the second part to this.
