UK Big Brother ID cards
p2pnet.net News:- Big Brother-style ID cards with name and address, as well as fingerprints and facial and iris scans, could be a reality in Britain by 2010, and as of next year, passports will include biometric facial identifiers.
In other words, soon, UK residents will be named and numbered on a citizen database.
“U.K. Prime Minster Tony Blair attempted to quell growing concern over the security of the country’s national identity program by threatening jail time for anyone caught tampering with the project’s massive database,” says the IDG News Service.
“Anyone found guilty of tampering with the database will face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and anyone involved in ID card administration who improperly discloses information could be hit with a two-year sentence.”
The biometric ID cards would used against terrorism, identity fraud, illegal workers, illegal immigration and illegal use of government entitlement programs such as the National Health System, says Blair.
But, IDG says, “as security experts have pointed out, the police criminal records database is known to be riddled with inaccuracies.
"I believe this is responsible government, not as some have called it ‘Big Brother government,” the story quotes Blair as saying.

and when people start coming up with clever ways to bypass the new type of IDs (see Minority Report; retinal surgery will become good business), government will then push ID chips implants into every human being. All your life belongs to us. have a nice day.

What exactly will happen to people whoose eyes you can’t scan and/or dont have any fingers, are they just not going to exist ????
